Two Months Old!

Today marks two months since Sophia was born.  She is growing so quickly (she has really long legs and pretty big feet for a two-month old!) and we see more and more smiles every day.  She is a lot less fussy than she was at 1 month old (we are so very grateful for her colicky period to be on the way out - as are our ear drums...)

Things Sophia likes: having a shower, eating, us making funny faces at her, the music her little bug-shaped sound machine plays, her swing, the vacuum cleaner and hairdryer when she is crying, sitting up-right (she is able to support her head very well now), her Ergo carrier and spending time with her parents :)

Things Sophia does not like: getting out of the shower, having a bath (the shower is much preferred), her car seat, barking dogs when she is sleeping (really, who does...thanks Emma and Toby...), and staying still when she is awake (she is always moving!)

She is getting so tall (or is the correct term "long" since she can't stand up yet...)

Happy Sunday!

Sunday night already - the weekend just flew by!  I had the whole weekend off, so Saturday afternoon, Jeremy and I had our first venture out, just the two of us.  My mum graciously watched Sophia for us for a few hours so that we could go to the movies to see Snow White and the Huntsman (fairly good movie, a little on the long side).  On Sunday, Jeremy went out to a baseball game, so Sophia and I had some time together at home.  Our friends Charlie and Rachel came over in the evening with their daughter Clara, who is just about 7 months older than Sophia - it was great to catch up!

After a ton of pregnancy pictures, Rachel and I are happy to show off our flat stomachs again :)

Happy Father's Day!

Happy first Father's Day to Jeremy!  We had a great day - Sophia started the morning by making little cooing noises and giving Jeremy and I lots of smiles :)  This, amazingly, continued throughout the day today, even when we went over to my Mum's to go swimming around lunchtime.  A much appreciated change over the fits of screaming that plagued much of weeks 2 - 6 of Sophia's life (the joys of a baby with gastric reflux and a milk-protein sensitivity).  We think we may be heading in the right direction, now that Sophia has been on a hypoallergenic formula for the past three weeks, as well as Prevacid for her reflux.  Keeping our fingers crossed!

I told Jeremy and Sophia to pose for a photo, and both Em and Toby hopped in as well without being prompted!

Sleepy Sophia

A few photos of Sophia taken during one of her late-night feedings.  She was 6 weeks old when these were taken.  I love the progression of her waking up :)

Welcome to Sophia!

Wow, it's been a while since I wrote anything on here!  Life has changed dramatically in the past year.  First, and most importantly, Jeremy and I are the proud parents of Sophia Jane Council, who was born at 9:12am on Friday, April 27, 2012.  Since we have friends and family all over the world, we have decided to use our blog to keep everyone updated and to share photos of our new little girl.

We'll start out with some photos from the first few days of Sophia's life :)

Shortly after Sophia was born at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea

Sophia was slightly jaundice after she was born, so she had to have some sunshine therapy for about a week - it was great to see her basking in the window!
